SolEpoxy™ HB2000: The High-Temperature, High-Reflectance Alternative to Thermoplastics for LEDs

As the lighting industry continues to push the boundaries of brightness, efficiency, and longevity, materials that can keep up with the demands of next-generation LEDs are essential. SolEpoxy™ HB2000 was developed to meet that challenge—offering a powerful alternative to thermoplastics for LEDs rated at 1 watt or higher.
Built on a unique non-aromatic epoxy chemistry, HB2000 maintains exceptional whiteness and reflectance even after long-term exposure to UV light and temperatures up to 150°C. Where conventional materials may yellow or degrade, HB2000 preserves light output and visual performance over the lifetime of the device.
HB2000 also delivers the mechanical strength and processing advantages manufacturers demand. Its excellent adhesion to the leadframe resists delamination and is specifically designed to pass the ink penetration test, ensuring long-term reliability under high thermal and optical stress. With very low moisture absorption and superior moldability, HB2000 processes efficiently while maintaining excellent surface quality and dimensional stability.
For high-volume production, HB2000’s fast 2-minute cure and very good mold release make it a productivity leader. Compared to thermoplastics, it shows superior resistance to yellowing after heat aging or UV exposure. And compared to other epoxies, its outstanding balance of leadframe adhesion and moldability delivers both performance and throughput without compromise.
Key Advantages:
      • High reflectance of visible light
      • Excellent heat resistance up to 150°C
      • High leadframe adhesion to resist delamination
      • Halogen-free “green” material
      • Fast cure with very good mold release
      • Very low moisture absorption
      • Excellent moldability for LED leadframes
With SolEpoxy™HB2000, manufacturers can count on long-term optical stability, robust adhesion, and high productivity—all in a halogen-free, environmentally responsible epoxy system. It’s the next step forward for high-power LED packaging materials, combining performance, reliability, and sustainability in one high-reflectance solution.
