Adhesives offer a better solution than brazing for stainless steel
Stainless steel is notoriously difficult to bond to, which is why much
attention was placed on very high adhesion to stainless steel, though adhesion
to other metals is also very high.Furthermore, cleaner joints are possible more quickly and more
cost-effectively since there are no brazing or cleaning steps involved.
Adhesives have been developed for these special applications, where speed of
cure and ease of process, combined with excellent adhesion to stainless steel
are paramount.
Furthermore, cleaner joints are possible more quickly and more cost-effectively with an adhesive since there are no brazing or cleaning steps involved.
Key Application Considerations:
- Parts are made of hard-to-bond stainless steel
- Adhesive strength needs to be high initially, and long after cure
- Process must be easy to handle
Key Material Properties:
- Very high adhesion to stainless steel and other metals
- Balanced flow to get between joints yet not flow off them
- CTE-matched to the substrates involved
